"Wild About Animals; A Printmaking Experience"

The Greymalkin Gallery is proud to present "Wild About Animals; A Printmaking Experience" showcasing the the work done by the Troy Elementary First and Fourth grade classes through the month of June and will be included in the gallery's Art Walk Opening on June 18th from 5pm to 7pm. "Wild About Animals" was the theme for a grant written by teachers Carol Espe, Karen Scharnhorst, and Klaire Vogt at Troy Elementary School and funded through the ArtsPowered Schools and the Idaho Commision on the Arts.  The grant was for an artist-in-residence, Jean Leffingwell, to spend a week working with the students and teachers learning the process of printmaking. This was a cross-curricular project that included the study of animals in science, language with Bio Poems, reports, and math. The conclusion was to make a block print of the student's animal and to discover how fun printmaking can be.

The TES students' work will be on display from June 9th through June 26th, Wednesdays through Saturdays from 10:00am – 5:30pm. Greymalkin Gallery is located at 777 S. Main Street at the corner of Hwy 8 & 99 in Troy, ID.
