ARTful Bike Rack City and Park Site Program

Public Art Opportunity

City of Moscow is commissioning two one-of-a-kind (2) rack sculptures. Compensation will be $2000 per rack.

Deadline for submissions: Friday, August 28, 2009, 5 p.m., local time.

DESCRIPTION:

The goal of this project is to create two unique and innovative functional artworks that will contribute aesthetically to the City of Moscow in support of our growing bike-riding community. The bike racks will be located at East City Park and Moscow City Hall.

ARTWORK SELECTION

The artist will be selected by the Moscow Bike Rack Committee to include members of the Moscow Arts Commission, city staff, bicycle enthusiasts, business owners and citizens.

BUDGET

The selected artist(s) will be required to sign a contract with the City of Moscow which defines responsibilities and the schedule of reimbursements from the City to the artist(s). The fee or the final selected of the ARTful bike rack(s) is $2,000 for design and fabrication of one unit and on-site installation costs.
